Text Key is an m-payments solution which enables web content publishers to charge their audience for time-metered viewing of web pages or files via reverse billed text messaging on their mobile telephones.

Web Sites using the Text Key application prompt visitors to text the code of a particular site section, web page, media file or article to an allocated premium rate number. The visitor then receives a return path text message, which debits a premium rate charge to their phone bill and also includes a uniquely generated code, which the visitor then uses to log in to download the particular content. The web site owners ultimately receive their share of the payment from the network operators.

Text Key offers a further range of advanced modules such as an opt-in automated SMS alert to previous pay per view visitors informing them that similar content that should be of interest to them has been posted up on the web site. Visitors can also be encouraged via the Text Key pop-up window to email the link to a friend who might be interested in purchasing the content. Hence TextKey combines as a micro-payment system and CRM facility.
